My interest in special needs started in elementary and continued on into highschool, where I supported a segregated learning classroom during lunch hour. I soon developed a passion and desire to change the way society interacts with those in the disabled community.
As a U of S student I worked with families with children with special needs and began to work towards behavior consulting and interventions. When I started my family, I began to work for Transitions doing respite work, community aid, and as a host family for children with special needs. I discovered a connection with autistic children and a deep desire to learn more. I joined Family Linkages Foundation for Autism, now known as the Centre for Autism Services Alberta, and began my journey as a behavior interventionist. I have the privilege of working on the Program Unit Funded Team as well as the Early Learning Team in the St. Albert Public School Division. In this capacity I have had the great fortune of working with a multi-disciplinary team of therapists to cultivate the best learning environment for students. All of this has lead to becoming a family support coach and strategies consultant.
I started Infinite Resources Inc. as a means to support all families and look beyond diagnosis and delays. To truly create a company that looks at strengths, community and family as means of inclusion. I have been honored with the St. Albert Baha'i International Womens Day award for Exemplary Service in the Community, which has motivated me to further the reach of my impact on the community. Infinite Resources Inc. has allowed me to create events that can change children/teen, families and the community: Beautiful Me, Plugged In and Supported Community.
I am a certified Nonviolent Crisis Physical Crisis Intervention Trainer through CPI, PBS (JACC) Trainer, Triple P Facilitator: Seminars, Primary Care, Groups - Stepping Stones, Teen & Standard.
